The international medical workshop organized by the Interventional Pain Academy as part of the Pan Europe Interventional Pain Management Series Updates & Innovations educational project took place on November 10 and 11 in Prague at the Yalta Hotel. The workshop focused on news and technical skills of ultrasound application in interventional algesiology.
The program of the two-day workshop included expert lecture blocks, live cases and, above all, intensive practical training in the use of ultrasound navigation in a range of anatomical structures and medical indications. The workshop took place under the guarantee of more than 30 members of the expert committee from abroad and at home, namely for sixty doctors specializing in algesiology, orthopedics, neurology or internal medicine. A total of 22 ultrasound stations were available for individual testing and training under the guidance of knowledgeable instructors.
The scientific committee was headed by renowned specialists in the field of pain treatment Dr. Robert Rapcan, ,FIPP, MBA, PhD., medical director of EuroPainClinics, founder of the Interventional Pain Academy, expert guarantor and scientific coordinator of the workshop, prof. dr. Ashish Shetty (London, UK), Dr. Sadiq Bhayani (Abu Dhabi, UAE), Dr. Manfred Greher (Vienna, Austria) and other experts from Poland, Sweden, Spain, Brazil, New Zealand, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other countries.
The novelty was the official presentation of the new EvoTouch 7 StarScope medical device, which literally represents a “revolution” in algesiology practice. It is a method of direct endoscopic visualization of treated structures using a miniature optical fiber introduced by a needle for the procedure. The 7 StarScope system thus combines ultrasound navigation and image transmission from the tip of the needle in one device.
